RTS announces session on Generation 9/11
6 August 2021
Commissioners Danny Horan (Channel 4) and Bill Gardner (PBS) to attend session on the making of Arrow Pictures' feature doc

The Royal Television Society is to hold an online session about the making of Generation 9/11, Arrow's unique look at the impact of the 9/11 tragedy on its 20th anniversary.

To be held virtually on Wednesday, 18 August, 2021, at 4:00pm, the event looks behind the scenes of the moving two-hour documentary which follows six children born after their fathers died on that day. Commissioners Bill Gardner (VP, Programmes and Development, PBS) and Danny Horan (Head of Factual, Channel 4), will join production staff to explore the unique approach to filming such intimate stories, and the editing of the combination of new footage, family photos, and home archives into a feature-length documentary. And, as this unique project is a three-way commission from Channel 4, PBS, and ARTE France, the session will also explore the collaborative process of these three significant and equal partners.

Arrow Pictures, with its distinguished track record of films on 9/11, shares the story of their creative process, and their sensitive exploration of 9/11's impact on an entire generation.
