Arrow Pictures film up for Best Documentary at the 2022 AACTA Awards

We are delighted that the Stranger Than Fiction Films and Arrow Pictures theatrical feature-length documentary River has been nominated for Best Documentary at this year's 2022 AACTA Awards.

This collaboration between the two companies reunites the team behind the multi-award-winning feature documentary Sherpa.

River explores the remarkable relationship between humans and rivers, taking its audience on an astonishing journey through space and time. Spanning six continents, and drawing on extraordinary contemporary cinematography, including satellite filming, the film shows rivers on scales and from perspectives never seen before.

The AACTA Awards (formerly the AFI Awards) have honoured screen excellence in Australia since the first AFI Awards were held in 1958. Held annually in Sydney in recognition and celebration of Australia's highest achievements in film and television, the AACTA Awards present over 55 awards across two major ceremonies.

The nominees were determined by voting AACTA Members, Australia’s largest community of screen professionals and fans and represent the most compelling feature-length, non-fiction films made by Australians in the past year.

Round two viewing and voting will begin in October. Round two determines the winner of the 2022 AACTA Award for Best Documentary.
